Update on Haryana Government Bill Reserving Jobs in the Private Sector
April 08, 2021
HR Policy India had done an in-depth analysis on this new bill introduced by the Haryana government in our last newsletter. We had reported that objections to this bill were collected from many companies, collated, and sent to CII North for submission. The Haryana Government is now delaying the implementation of job reservations in companies to May 1st, as it waits for more suggestions from the industry - past the March 21st deadline - and puts systems in place. The state is unlikely to repeal the Act but may include changes.
HRPI View: While we had advised members to plan various scenarios based on information that the law will be implemented, we think that the ceiling of Rs 50000per month is likely to be revised to somewhere between Rs 20000 - 25000 per month. Further, jobs with specialized technical skills are likely to be exempt. Watch this space.
