HR Policy Conference Call Shows Strong Membership Interest in India Challenges

HR Policy held a call on the various developments and challenges happening in India as Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s BJP party holds both chambers of the Indian legislature, raising hopes for long-awaited labor and employment reforms.

Global HR Initiatives Chair Anne Hill, CHRO at Avery Dennison Corporation, said: “India is of critical importance to our company and one of our most challenging areas, with issues in employee relations but also some of the highest employee relations scores in the world.”

The call also featured Alan Wild, Director of Global Affairs for the HR Policy Association, and DP Singh, Senior Executive Vice President at Chandigarh University.  They covered policy developments such as labor reform, the taxing of share buybacks, minimum public shareholding norms, education reform, labor reform, and high unemployment rates.
