E.R. Anderson is the Vice President of Communications and Government Affairs for the HR Policy Association. She has more than 20 years of experience executing communications strategies in the executive and legislative branches of government and in the private sector.
From 2013 until 2017, E.R. was the Communications Director for Senator Pat Toomey (R-PA) where she developed a communications strategy on key issues that the Philadelphia Inquirer called “relentless” and used new tools to communicate with constituents. She also was Press Secretary for Senator Susan Collins (R-ME), when she was ranking member of the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs and Committee. In the President George W. Bush administration, E.R. was the Deputy Under Secretary for Economic Affairs at the U.S. Commerce Department. Her bureau oversaw the collection and calculation of much of the market-moving economic data. She also has private sector experience, working with the Financial Services Roundtable and Wal-Mart stores.
E.R. has a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a master’s in communications from the University of Georgia. She serves on the Board of Governors at Army Navy Country Club.
